Welcome to the Kinnard Pioneers web page.  We hope that our web site will help you understand a little better what the Telephone Pioneers do and who we are. Our Chapter was formed in 1922 and our members have been "Answering the Call of Those in Need" since then.  Kinnard Chapter extends from Easton to Altoona in Pennsylvania, with our Chapter Office in the center of the state in Harrisburg.

  Chapter President

Charlie Hoke

Chapter President Charlie Hoke is continuing many of our past Chapter projects such as "Read to Me" kits. The kits include a "onesie", diaper, and a book to encourage new mothers to read to their children.

Charlie also is continuing a Verizon Region Pioneer project which entailed putting together backpacks filled with dictionaries, books, school supplies, etc. to be given to children at domestic violence shelters or Children and Youth Services.  The Chapter project is called "Living and Learning through Pioneers".  It has been really well received.

Some of our many community service projects include Hug-A-Bears, baby caps, repairing Talking Books, Adopt-A-Highway, Sports Jamboree for blind and wheelchair bound children, International Coastal Cleanup, Playground Maps, and Electronic Maps.

In addition to helping in our communities we also have several annual Fellowship events such as our Spring Luncheon, Chapter Reunion, and Chapter Picnic. Everyone is welcome!

At this site you will be able to join over 5,000 active and retired Verizon employees as a member of our Chapter. We have also provided links to volunteer for projects.  In these times of prosperity, we Pioneers have chosen to give back to our communities. We hope you will join us. You can find all the important contact numbers by clicking on the Chapter and Councils/Clubs links at the left.
